Chai Biscuit Cake – Hello Friends Chai Pi Lo – The Cupcake Confession

This Chai Biscuit cake is inspired by the recent meme that has taken the Indian internet by storm – Hello friends, chai pi lo! Besides, this cake has also been inspired by the classic dunking of biscuit in tea as the Indian afternoon tea ritual in practically every corner of India at about 5 pm.

The cake layers contain ground biscuits (no cream biscuits). I’ve used Parle G .. This is NOT a sponsored post. When ground to a fine powder and passed through a sieve, the resulting cake tastes like you’re eating moist fluffy Parle G biscuit in the form of cake.

Then comes the best part about this cake – the masala Chai buttercream frosting. Using the basic principles of making boiled milk buttercream frosting, we create this silky, fluffy and super smooth frosting by boiling freshly brewed chai. It flavours the buttercream so nicely and when layered with the Parle G cake layers and hand crumbled Parle G biscuits between the layers, it literally feels like you’re dunking Parle G in chai and having it on a cold, rainy monsoon evening!
